
First Symposium on Psychoactive Substances Held

The first National Symposium on Psychoactive Substances was held at the Military Medical Academy.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Military Medical Academy, Colonel Prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljevic, former Head of the Military Healthcare Department toxicologist Brigadier General retired Assistant professor Dr. Veljko Todorovic, as well as participants from the country and abroad.



The meeting was organized by the MMA National Poison Control Center, and with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in
addition to MMA toxicologists, lectures were delivered by eminent experts from the country and abroad. Practical experiences were exchanged on the chemical structure of psychoactive substances, the treatment of acute poisoning, the lethal outcomes of these substances overdose, and the analytics of controlled and newly synthesized psychoactive substances.
