Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery
The Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery is a modern, highly specialized healthcare facility dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of the most severe diseases concerning face and neck.             
The Department of Maxillofacial Surgery deals with virtually all the aspects of surgery in the areas of: traumatology, oncology, orthognathic and reconstructive surgery.
Its medical team operates with a success as well in surgical treatment of trigeminal nerve neuralgia, preprotetic surgery, surgical oral treatment, chemotherapy of solid head and neck tumors and ambulant surgical interventions made in local anesthesia.
 
History
The origins of the Clinic are related to doctor by the name of Atanasije Puljo who in 1912 managed the Jaw Fractures Department established within the Fifth Reserve Hospital in Belgrade. Since 1952, the head of the Dental Clinic’s Jaw Surgery Department was Colonel Prof. Dr. Alfred Štajner. During his mandatory this Department was renamed to the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1972, the Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery was separated from the Dental Clinic and headed by General Prof. Antonije Škokljev, the first holder of Ph.D. degree in maxillofacial surgery in the Yugoslav Armed Forces of that time. In the period from 1986 to 1998, chief of the clinic was Colonel Prof. Miomir Cvetanović M.D., Ph.D. while between the year 1998 and 2012 the Clinic is headed by Col. Prof. Nebojša Jović, M.D., Ph.D. Since 2012, the head of the MMA’s Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery is Prof. Srboljub Stošić, M.D., Ph.D.
 
The military insured patients and civilian referrals can seek services with Maxillofacial Surgery Ward within its hours of operation (from 07.30 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Self-pay patients can visit this Ward during its afternoon working hours between 03.30 p.m. and 07.30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
