Four elderly people from the Nursing Home in Veliki Borak were brought early this morning, between 5.05 and 5.45, to the National Poison Control Center of the Military Medical Academy with symptoms of acute poisoning by fire gases.
These are two female and two male patients, aged between 80 and 90 years.
Two patients have severe poisoning - one is on mechanical ventilation and is undergoing intensive care measures, while the other patient has been referred to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The other two patients were diagnosed with moderate poisoning, with signs of bronchial obstruction and inflammatory changes in the lungs.
All patients are admitted to the Clinic for Urgent and Clinical Toxicology of the National Poison Control Center of the Military Medical Academy, where all intensive care measures are applied.
