Symposium presenting actual topics in the field of thoracic surgery, organized by the MMA Clinic for Chest Surgery was held at the Military Medical Academy.

According to the welcome speech delivered by the MMA Deputy Head Colonel Prof. Dr. Dragan Dincic the fact that named event has gathered numerous eminent lecturers from Serbia, Republika Srpska and Macedonia and excellent choice of topics has been made, this was a favorable occasion to share the latest scientific competences, experiences from clinical practice and improve cooperation with the colleagues.

Clinic’s Head Colonel Asst. Prof. Dr. Vlado Cvijanovic presented the historical path of the Clinic along with the novelties in this part of medical practice. In further course of the event, the attendees had the opportunity to hear the lectures as estimation of the risks in case of lung and thoracic wall resections, trauma rupture and tracheae and bronchi injuries, possibilities for VATS procedure, endoscopic treatment of GERB, latest knowledge of laryngeal cancer surgical treatment, as well as the role of anesthesia in chest surgery.
