The handover ceremony of the Balkan Medical Task Forces

The handover of command duties of the Balkan Medical Task Forces took place within the framework of the regional military medical conference in Belgrade.
The handover ceremony between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Serbia was attended by Assistant Minister of Defense Policy Predrag Bandić, His Excellency the Ambassador of the United States of America in Belgrade Christopher Hill, Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade Kristin Melsom, Head of the Military Healthcare Department, Brigadier General Radivoje Anđelković VMD, with the presence of a large number of conference participants and the diplomatic corps.
The Republic of Serbia took over the two-year mandate of the framework nation in the Balkan Medical Task Forces. The signing of the duties of the Balkan Medical Task Forces commander between LtCol Igor Stergar and Col Dr. Veljko Milić was preceded by addresses from the ambassadors of the USA and the Kingdom of Norway.
The international organization of the Balkan Medical Task Force - BVMS (Balkan Medical Task Force - BMTF) with its permanent headquarters in Skopje was founded in 2016, and it achieved full operational capability in 2019. This multinational medical military unit enables the member states - Serbia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Montenegro, to use their medical forces and resources more efficiently, with partner countries - the USA and the Kingdom of Norway, without duplication and loss of effectiveness, and to engage in crises and natural disasters.
