The 1st December –The World AIDS Day

Within the framework of marking the 1st December -The World AIDS Day, the Military Medical Academy carried out the following activities that fall into the scope of prevention and control of HIV/AIDS in a military population:
- The MMA head, Col. Prof. Dr. Marijan Novakovićtalked with the cadets of the MMA Medical School, and pointed out their personal responsibilities in prevention of this dangerous disease, not only as future military physicians and officers, but primarily as healthy young people;
- The head of the MMA’s Department of Prevention and Control of Nosocomial Infections, Prof. Dr. Vesna Šuljagić delivered a lecture on epidemiological characteristics of the HIV/AIDS in the world today, and its impact on combat capabilities of today’s defence institutions to the members of the Armed Forces Guard Unit, who were also provided with the educational material of great importance in prevention and control of this disease;
- The 4th Army Brigade conducted educational activities and distributed informative materials to all the members of the two barracks in Vranje and the ‘’South’’ Base in Bujanovac to mark this Day, and
- The MMA’s experts dealing with HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis and therapeutic treatment will take part in the ‘’HIV/AIDS 2011’’scientific event to be held on December 2, 2011 in the premises of the SANU, in the organization of the Interdepartmental Committee for AIDS and the JAZAS.
