The contract was signed by the Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović, and the consultant for the implementation of the mentioned project, the general director of the company "Management4health GmbH" from Germany, Stefano Ferrari. It is one of the most important projects for increasing energy efficiency in public buildings in Serbia.

The signing of the contract was attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Mile Jelić and the Head of the Military Healthcare Department Brigadier General Dr. Radivoje Anđelković.

As Minister Đedović pointed out, the implementation of the project will not only save energy and reduce the emission of harmful gases, but also improve the quality of services for patients. According to her, the analyzes carried out for this project show that there is significant room for more efficient use of energy in public facilities, especially in healthcare.

Head of MMA, Colonel Prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljević expressed satisfaction with the start of the project, which would greatly contribute to the improvement of the working conditions of employees and the treatment of patients, as well as the saving of all types of energy and the preservation of our environment.

- At the time it was designed and built, the MMA building was among the first "smart buildings" in the SFRY, according to the then standards of technology and knowledge in the field of construction and ecology. Bearing in mind the complexity of the technical and technological systems of the MMA, the energy efficiency project is certainly one of the largest, and for us, the most important in the country. I would like to thank everyone for recognizing the importance of the energy improvement of the MMA for the benefit of us who use it, but also for all the citizens of Serbia - said Colonel Vukosavljević.

Before signing the contract, the delegations visited the premises and systems that will be rehabilitated by this project.

The project "Energy efficiency in public buildings and renewable energy sources in the remote heating sector - energy rehabilitation of the MMA Hospital" is divided into three phases, and it is planned that all phases will be realized during the next six years.
