On the occasion of March 2, the Day of Military Medical Academy, endocrinology examinations for 60 patients ill with diabetes type 2 were organized at the MMA.

Citizens had an opportunity to find out during their examinations about the appropriate type of therapy and prevention of numerous accompanying complications of the disease. Examinations were organized with the aim of preventing further progress of diabetes type 2 of which over 600,00 persons are ill with in our country.

According to Head of the MMA’s Clinic for Endocrinology Colonel Prof. Dr Zoran Hajdukovic, the cause for higher number of the ill with diabetes is lack of knowledge of risk factors at the level of common population but also timely detection of diabetes symptoms.

The campaign of the Military Medical Academy which on the occasion of the Day of institution organizes different examinations for citizens every year was held in order to raise a public attention at this disease which incidence at the global level is in a constant increase.
