New Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke

Physicians of the MMA Clinic for Neurology and specialists in interventional neuroradiology of the MMA Institute of Radiology with anesthesiological assistance and professional supervision of Dr. Zoran Milosevic from Ljubljana University Medical Centre performed intraarterial thrombectomy (thrombus removal) in the middle cerebral artery in patient suffering from acute stroke. Procedure was successfully carried out without any complications.
This is the first time this complicated neurovascular method has been applied at the Military Medical Academy, pointing out the fact that stent placement has been performed at the same time on internal carotid artery. This treatment news represent significant success of multidisciplinary approach implementing at the MMA as well as one more confirmation of following the latest achievements in modern neurology.
