Military Medical Cooperation between Serbia and Belgium

Belgrade, April 27, 2010. – The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Belgium Major Rudi Walraevens paid an official visit to the Military Medical Academy, to discuss and explore with the representatives of our institution possibilities for further developing military medical cooperation between the two countries. The guest from Belgium was introduced into the capabilities of the Military Medical Academy in the areas of treatment, education and scientific-research as well as the accomplishments of the Poison Control Center.
Having reiterated their commitment to further advance their bilateral relations, both sides agreed to identify and concretize joint scientific-research programs in all the branches of medicine, with a special focus on Urology, Orthopedic Surgery and Burn Treatment as well as within scientific research framework were agreed.
The guests from Belgium expressed particular interest in the experiences of the Military Medical Academy in medical management of the injured and sick in mass catastrophe situations.
All further activities will be carried out within the framework of bilateral military medical cooperation between the two countries.
