Military Medical Academy hosted the Meeting of the Serbian Medical Society’s Occupational Medicine Section, organized by the MMA’s Institute of Occupational Medicine.

President of the Section Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Milovanovic and Head of the Institute of Occupational Medicine Col. Assistant Dragan Aleksic addressed the audience. The importance of preventive medicine in relation to defence system and population in general was singled out and also the necessity of technological renewal as well as continuing education of the employees according to world standards was emphasized.

The professional part of the meeting included the lectures on application of ionizing radiation in medicine, legislation and risks. Prof. Dr. Branka Djurovic lectured about professional risks of all engaged in the procedure of malignant diseases diagnostics - TNM classification, about legal frameworks of ionizing radiation application in medicine spoke Research Associate Mirjana Radenkovic PhD, from the Institute of Nuclear Sciences "Vinca", while Mpharm Marija Djordjevic Odovic held a lecture on thyroid gland function determination.

Prior to professional part of the meeting, the Presidency of Section discussed about following activities over the year paying the special attention to the organization of Congress with international participation.
