22. 01. 2010
Belgrade, January 22, 2010. – On January 21st, in nine clinics of the Military Medical Academy, a survey was conducted within the framework of the project devoted to „Nutrition Day in European Hospitals“, which was initiated by the European Society for Parental and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN) and Austrian Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, sponsored by the European Council and conducted every year in health care centers across our continent. The aims of the survey were to determine the quality and modes of feeding hospitalized patients and to assess patients’ nutritional status in general. The results of the survey would contribute to the improvements in the domain of patients’ nourishment and would serve as the basis for conducting independent quality control projects.
The Military Medical Academy has been involved in this European project from the very beginning. The team of our health professionals is headed by the president of the National Society for Parental and Enteral Nutrition (NUPENS), Prim. Marina Panišić from the MMA’s Clinic for Abdominal and Endocrine Surgery, who acts as a national coordinator.
