Head of MMA, colonel prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljević and colleagues participated in the World Congress of Military Medicine, which was organized by the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) and was held from September 5 to 9, 2022 in Brussels.

Side by side with the representatives of the World Health Organization and the World Veterinary Organization, whose representatives managed the opening of the congress, the MMA delegates had the opportunity to participate in discussions about current security threats in the form of health disasters, exchange knowledge with the aim of improving innovative capacities and better results of provided health services , but also presented their experiences in the field of prevention and fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The MMA delegation consisted of the Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine, Col prof. Dr. Zoran Lazić, Head of the National Poison Control Center, prof. Slavica Vučinić, Ph.D., Mirko Dolić, Ph.D., psychiatrist engaged in the temporary Covid hospital of Karaburma, and Nenad Petrović, Ph.D., from the Clinic for Eye Diseases. The topics of the congress, organized through oral and poster presentations and a series of parallel sessions, included the progress of surgery and hospital care of patients, rehabilitation, and the field of mental health.

This year's scientific program was all the more important because it marked the 100th anniversary of the first congress and the establishment of the International Committee of Military Medicine. Regular gatherings of the world's military medical services, among which is the Republic of Serbia, and for the sake of professional cooperation of people around the world and active exchange of knowledge in the field of military medicine, in addition to congress activities, include annual meetings of the presidents of military medical services, the work of various medical branches and regional organizations. The committee is considered one of the most important organizations at the world level.
