Owing to the cooperation of the MMA doctors, the Institute of Lung Diseases of Vojvodina and the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina, the angioplasty of the lung artery was successfully performed in a young patient at the Institute of Lung Diseases of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica.

The medical team led by the Head of the Clinic for Cardiology and Emergency Internal Medicine, MMA Col. Prof. Dr. Slobodan Obradovic, Assist. Prof. Dr. Jovan Matijasevic and Dr. Uros Batranovic from the Institute of Lung Diseases, as well as Assistant Dr. Milo Kovacevic and Assist.Prof. Dr. Ilija Srdanovic from the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina took part in the intervention.

The mentioned intervention has so far been done only at the Military Medical Academy and the introduction of a sophisticated treatment for severe patients with thromboembolic lung disease into other healthcare institutions is considered to be the result of long-term successful cooperation between the three healthcare institutions.
