Free-of-charge medical examinations for women due to the early detection of cervical and breast cancer were carried out at the Military Medical Academy and military hospitals in Nis and Novi Sad in the past month.

More than 700 gynecological and 900 surgical, ultrasound and mammographic examinations were carried out at military health institutions of the Ministry of Defence.

The free-of-charge examinations campaign, involving specialists in gynecology, radiology, surgery, pathology, cytology, as well as numerous medical staff, was prolonged until May 5 and at the Military Hospital Novi Sad until May 14 due to the great interest of the female citizens.

In this way, the Ministry of Defence has made a significant contribution to the national fight against malignant diseases, one of the leading causes of mortality in the world, as well as to the prevention improvement and timely diagnostics of the female population.
