For higher-quality education of future physicians: MMA and Novi Sad Medical School

Belgrade, April 14, 2010 – The meeting of the MMA’s delegation and the Dean’s Board of the Novi Sad Medical School recently held in Novi Sad has given a new impulse to the cooperation between the Military Medical Academy and this School.
The MMA’s delegation composed of our Academician, Col. Prof. Dr. Miodrag Čolić, the dean of the MMA’s School for Advanced Studies and Prof. Dr. Mirjana Životić-Vanović, a head of the Education and S&R Sector, was led by the head of our institution, Major General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtić.
‘Cooperation with educational institutions has a significant role to play in raising quality of education, within framework of which the Novi Sad Medical School has been recognized as our reliable partner in carrying out that very responsible mission’, said General Jevtić during the visit to Novi Sad. ‘Our collaboration has its rises and falls, but I hope that vanity and umbrageous are behind us, and that everyone now understands that the medicine and knowledge are meant to serve general wellbeing of the people and the country they belong to’, said General stressing that he expected a recent initiating of more comprehensive cooperation between those two institutions.
Prof. Dr. Nikola Grujić, the dean of the Novi Sad Medical School expressed his contentment with the fact that Military Medical Academy as an institution possessing everything required for offering high-quality education to the future generations of physicians had become accredited M.D.-granting Medical School, in which educational process was successfully conducted along with other activities of this strategically and nationally important institution.
During broad discussions, both sides pointed out that the exchange of teachers and students at all study program levels, joint work on scientific-reasearch projects and sharing of teachers’ experience in the field of teaching methodology could represent new agreed areas of cooperation to be formalized in the next period.
