The expert meeting organized by the Section for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Serbian Medical Society and the Clinic for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Military Medical Academy was held at the Military Medical Academy.

Introductory lecture by the Head of the Clinic Col. Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Djurovic was dedicated to the osteoarthritis of the knees and the specificities of the application of various types of treatment along with the results presentation of the research on the use of pharmacological and physical therapy for overcoming this medical problem. As emphasized, in addition to symptomatic therapy based on data from the profession, science, and clinical practice experience, a single approach to each patient is particularly important and adjusting the most effective treatment that will lead to symptom alleviation.

MMA physiatrists delivered lectures dedicated to pain therapy and the treatment of various knee injuries. Lt. Col. Dr. Dejan Ilic spoke about the acute knee joint injuries, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Vukomanovic on the intra-articular application of corticosteroids and viscosupplementation, while the lecture of Assist. Prof. Dr. Zorica Brdareski included an integrative approach in the treatment of pain in the knee.
