EMCDDA delegation visited MMA

A three-member delegation from the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) led by Ilze Jekabsone visited the Department of Toxicological Chemistry of the National Poison Control Center of the Military Medical Academy.
Head of the National Poison Control Center Prof. Dr. Slavica Vucinic briefed the guests about the organization of work and the capacities of laboratories, and a special interest was focused on the equipment for analysis of biological material for newly synthesized substances. In addition to the exchange of experience in the detection of new psychoactive substances, discussion was focused on opportunities for training of medical personnel in this area, and a tour of the laboratory was organized for guests.
The visit of the MMA’s Department of Toxicological Chemistry Laboratory was organized due to discuss possible cooperation in the development of the final system and inclusion into the protocol for early warning on new psychoactive substances organized at the European level.
