70 years of medical research

The ceremony on the occasion of the jubilee of the Institute of Medical Research of the Military Medical Academy was held at the Military Medical Academy.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the event, a monograph was promoted in which the results of research and scientific research projects in previous decades were presented, a promotional film made in cooperation with the Military Film Center "Zastava Film" was broadcast, and those present had the opportunity to learn about the history and concept, work and obligations of departments and divisions of the Institute.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the Institute for Medical Research, Colonel Assoc. Dr. Ivan Stanojević emphasized teamwork as the only way to successfully overcome all obstacles. As he said, "a man who does not know his history and his roots tends to wander in the future" and noted that the characteristic of history and development, and at the same time the long-term goal of the Institute, is applied science with the aim of a sophisticated and personalized approach to the patient.
Head of MMA, colonel prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljević said that he was proud that the MMA was once again a meeting place for a large number of experts from different fields, that in this health institution the preservation of tradition was equally valued, but also investment in the generations to come, and he congratulated all those who developed and contributed with their permanent work. He also pointed out that at a time when it was not easy to fight for scientific truth, this meeting had a special significance, not only for the affirmation of fundamental, but also developmental and applied science, and that it would contribute to the treasury of scientific achievements, but also raised scientific research to a higher level.
About 25 healthcare workers are employed at the Institute of Medical Research of the Military Medical Academy, this year 26 scientific papers were published in international professional journals and 11 scientific research projects are ongoing. The teaching staff of the Institute actively teaches over a thousand classes in all forms of teaching at the Faculty of Medicine of the Military Medical Academy. The work of the Institute develops in three directions equally important for medicine in general, namely science, that is, scientific research processes, teaching and diagnostic activity based on immunological and genetic research.
