Pulmonology Clinic
The Clinic has introduced and applies numerous most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Today, it operates 48 inpatient beds within the two Clinic’s departments not including Intensive Care Unit and the Same Day Hospital. There are also units for invasive diagnostics, the lung function testing and ambulatory treatment of the patients.
 
History
In 1922, Brigadier General Dr. Žarko Ruvidić asks establishment of new tuberculosis pavilion within the framework of the Internal Department of I Army district General Military Hospital. In 1931, the practical course in the field of tuberculosis with artificial pneumothorax application was organized in the General Military Hospital with participation of 18 military doctors and 1 civilian.
In 1937, Tuberculosis Department and Dispenser for Tuberculosis have been founded within the framework of the Main Military Hospital. Military Institute of Tuberculosis has been established in 1958 while Institute of Pulmonary Diseases in 1972.
The MMA’s Pulmonology Clinic has been operating in the present form since 1980.
 
The military insured patients and civilian referrals can seek services with Pulmonary Ward within its hours of operation (from 07.30 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Self-pay patients can visit this Ward during its afternoon working hours between 03.30 p.m. and 07.30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
