Clinic for Cardiology
The MMA Clinic of Cardiology is responsible for the management of patients with acute cardiac diseases, such as conditions of acute coronary syndrome, malignant arrhythmias and acute heart failure. Also, the Clinic is responsible for patients with chronic heart failure, inflammation of the heart muscle and pericardium, and congenital and acquired valvular defects as well as for the treatment of hypertension, cardiovascular system damage in systemic disease and treatment of arrhythmias. In addition to all non-invasive cardiac procedures, at the Clinic of Cardiology are also presented interventional procedures of invasive coronary diagnostics, coronary angioplasty, including primary angioplasty, the different pacemaker implantation, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedure. At the year of 2016 in Clinic of cardiology MMA established first Departement for management cardiovascular syncopa in South East Europa.
By using modern equipment, a number of non-invasive diagnostic procedures can quickly and efficiently be performed:
- stress test on a treadmill (exercise test)
- 24-hour Holter monitoring ECG and blood pressure
- ECHO examinations including stress echocardiography procedures, assessment of myocardial viability, noninvasive assessment of coronary blood flow through the coronary arteries, transesophageal echocardiography, assessment of cardiac asynchrony
- ambulance control of implanted pacemakers functions, measurement of late potentials, remote control of devices for monitoring arrhythmias and conduction

At the Clinic there is a possibility of one-day hospitalization whereas in 24 hours complete noninvasive cardiological diagnostics can be done.
The military insured patients and civilian referrals can seek services with Cardiology Ward within its hours of operation (from 07.30 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Self-pay patients can visit this Ward during its afternoon working hours between 03.30 p.m. and 07.30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
