Official celebration of the MMA Day

Central celebration of the 164th anniversary of the existence of the Military Medical Academy took place at the National Theater in Belgrade. Addressing the audience, the head of the Military Medical Academy Maj.Gen. Prof. Miodrag Jevtic, MD, PhD pointed out that upon functional integration into the National Health System, MMA was to face the integration into the educational system of the Republic of Serbia, technical renovation as well as the improvement of the MMA employees’ living standard.
Promotion of new holders of Master’s and PhD degree

On the occasion of the MMA Day, the special session of the Scientific - Teaching Board was held to promote holders of Master’s and PhD degree who defended their doctoral thesis in the course of the last year and to the specialists and sub-specialists in various fields of medicine who passed their specialist’s examinations in the period between two MMA birthdays.

A surgical team led by Maj.Gen. Prof. Miodrag Jevtic, MD, PhD, has successfully and for the first time in our country, performed two new surgical procedures in the field of vascular surgery - reconstruction of aneurysm of abdominal aorta by applying the endovascular surgical technique.
Research work of Prof. Balint

On the occasion of the 15th of February, the Serbian Armed Forces Day, the Minister of Defence Dragan Šutanovac awarded the prize for the best research work in the MoD and AF of the Republic of Serbia to professor Bela Balint, MD, PhD from the MMA Transfusiology Institute for his work in the field of regenerative medicine relating to therapeutic application of stem cells in patients with acute myocardial infarction during cardiological surgery and the cell therapy in patients with liver cirrhosis and degenerative changes in pancreas.
