As the largest organizational unit of the Military Medical Academy, the Outpatient Diagnostic Clinic carried out all of MMA Management missions set for 2008. Outpatient treatment and prevention of most chronic non-contagious diseases in military patients and their family members was and is still the most important responsibility of all staff members of the Outpatient Diagnostic Clinic as well as diagnostic institutes and clinics that participate in it within the framework of their everyday clinical practice.

Innovations in the treatment of the urotract calculosis

Following the latest world trends in the diagnosis and treatment of the calculosis of urinary tract and, in order to respond to ever growing number of national patients affected by that disease as well as the referrals from surrounding countries, the Military Medical Academy has initiated the foundation of the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Calculosis, the only one of its kind in the region.

Remarkable results of the MMA Ophtlamologist Surgeons

During 2008, the MMA professional team of the Clinic for Eye Diseases lead by Col. Prof. Miroslav Vukosavljević, MD, PhD has performed 5936 surgical procedures of which 485 are posterior segment eye surgeries considered the most complex ophtlamological procedures and 83 transconjuctival sutureless vitrectomies performed under local anesthesia (MIVS 23G).

The best paper at the Symposium

The paper of the civilian employee Vera Đuričić from the MMA Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology titled ‘The role of nurse in nursing personnel education on the importance of stressors in the preoperative care’ was declared to be the best paper presented at the recently held Symposium of head medical nurses, technicians and midwives of the Republic of Serbia.
