Health Assessment for the first group of candidates prior to their admission to the MMA’s School for Advanced Studies will be carried out on May 10, 12, 14 and 15, 2010 according to the given schedule. Candidates not included in the lists would be timely informed about the dates of medical check-ups.

On May 10, 2010, the Protocol on Business Cooperation between the Military Medical Academy and Serbian Football Association (SFA) was signed by the MMA’s head, Major General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtić and the SFA president, Mr. Tomisalv Karadžić.
International Symposium on Venous Thromboembolism

The MMA’s Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology and Center for Continuous Education organized the International Symposium devoted to ‘Deep Vein Prophylaxis in Orthopedic Surgery’ which was hold in the MMA’s amphitheater today. A great number of eminent experts from Serbia, Bulgaria and Slovenia took an active part in this event.
A Nurse of the Year

The 12th May, the International Nurses Day was marked this year by traditional event bringing together MMA’s medical nurses and technicians and former head nurses of our institution, the highest MMA’s representatives lead by the MMA’s head, Major General, Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtić and deans and principals of higher education institutions and nursing schools in our country.
New surgical techniques in the treatment of scoliosis

For the first time in this area, the MMA’s Clinic for Neurosurgery has performed on an 18-year-old patient a surgical correction of idiopathic scoliosis using a new surgical method – translation and derotation technique. The surgery was performed by our neurosurgeons assisted by the two experts from Minneapolis (U.S.A.) Dr Scott Hook and Dr. Paul Hess.

A long and successful cooperation of the Military Medical Academy with nursing schools in our country has been enriched with another new initiative relating to meetings of students and graduates from those schools who are interested in pursuing career in medicine at the MMA’s School for Advanced Studies.

Based on the Decision of the high governmental authorities of the Former Yugoslavia, on April 30, 1950, the Military Medical Academy was founded by integration of the Central Military Hospital, Hygienic-Epidemiological Institute and Medical Officers School.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Belgium Major Rudi Walraevens paid an official visit to the Military Medical Academy, to discuss and explore with the representatives of our institution possibilities for further developing military medical cooperation between the two countries.
