Central celebration of the 164th anniversary of the existence of the Military Medical Academy took place at the National Theater in Belgrade. Addressing the audience, the head of the Military Medical Academy Maj.Gen. On the occasion of the 15th of February, the Serbian Armed Forces Day, the Minister of Defence Dragan Šutanovac awarded the prize for the best research work in the MoD and AF of the Republic of Serbia to professor Bela Balint, MD, PhD from the MMA Transfusiology Institute for his work in the field of regenerative medicine relating to therapeutic application of stem cells in patients with acute myocardial infarction during cardiological surgery and the cell therapy in patients with liver cirrhosis and degenerative changes in pancreas.
