The World Hepatitis Day – 28th July - was the reason why VMA’s Infectious and Tropical Diseases Clinic decided to once again raise awareness about prevention and setting early diagnosis of viral hepatitis, especially B and C, which is a global health problem with over 500 million people suffering from the disease and close to 1 million dying from it each year.

In the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador H.E. Aly Galal Bassiouny, Deputy Head of the Education Division and NIR dr Silva Dobrić, Head of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic Colonel prof. dr Aleksandar Đurović and other VMA officials, Head of the Military Medical Academy (VMA), Colonel Prof. Dr Marijan Novaković officially handed over certificates on completed physical medicine and rehabilitation course to nurses from Egypt.

30.06.2011 | The first impact factor for Military Medical Review magazine VSP

Military Medical Review („Vojnosanitetski Pregled“, VSP for short), a magazine for doctors, pharmacists and dentists who work in the Serbian Army, has been given its first ever impact factor of 0.199. This news was posted on the website of the Serbian Library Consortium for Coordinated Acquisition (KOBSON) on 30th June, two days after the Philadelphia-based Thomson Reuters Institute (the former Institute for Scientific Informations – ISI) officially revealed impact factors for the most influential scientific magazines.

27.06.2011 | Delegation of the Military Health Service of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic visits the MMA

A three-member delegation of the Military Health Service of the Czech Republic, including Dr. Roman Blanar, Vice-Dean for Foreign Affairs and Development at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Defence, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Jaromir Vopršal, Head of the Veterinary Service and envoy of the Defence of the Czech Republic to Belgrade, has recently visited the Military Medical Academy.

Representative of the HIV / AIDS Control and Prevention Programme Dr Freda Vaughan and Major Paul Puchta from the U.S. European Command visited the Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Defense, including the Military Medical Academy, from 19th to 23rd June 2011.

22.06.2011 | Visit of Algerian delegation to Military Medical Academy

After the official visit of a three-member delegation of Serbian Ministry of Defense, lead by Chief of the MMA Sector of Education and Scientific Research Work Colonel Professor Dr Predrag Romić, to the Directorate for Military Health Care Sector of DPR Algeria in May this year, followed a return visit of the Algerian delegation to the Military Medical Academy.
